Enjoy a Great combination of Football and Cocktails this Summer
With the World Cup now around the corner, many people will be getting excited about the football thrills that lie ahead over the summer months. While a lot of people head to pubs and bars to watch the matches there are many others that prefer to relax at home and enjoy their own space while watching the matches. However, this doesn’t mean that you cannot create a fun atmosphere and get together with friends and family.
Hosting an exciting event with your friends and family present is the perfect way to enjoy the up and coming World Cup. You can serve up beers, wine and vodka cocktails, do some finger food or BBQ food, and then settle down without being surrounded by crowds as you watch the matches. Of course, some of the matches may be on too late for you to arrange an event especially during the week when people have to go to work the next day. However, on the days where matches are going to be taking place earlier in local time, hosting an event at home is a cheaper and more relaxing experience.
What you need to sort out
There are various things to sort out when it comes to hosting a World Cup event at home this year. First off, decide where you will be hosting it – will it be indoors or do you want to set up in the garden and do a BBQ as your guests enjoy the football? If it is the latter, you need to ensure you can set the TV or protector screen up somewhere convenient where everyone has a good view.
You also need to work on the food that you will be providing to your guests. You don’t want to be tied ot the kitchen and running in and out while the match is on, so a buffet or BBQ is the best option depending on whether you are hosting the event outdoors or indoors. This is also a cheap, convenient, and simple solution for you. Of course, if you prefer you can order in and get a stack of pizzas ready for when the match begins, which saves you time and hassle.
When it comes to drinks, make sure you get plenty of beer in and keep it chilled. Also get some red and white wine for those that do not drink beer and soft drinks for those that don’t drink alcohol. In addition, plan out the cocktails you will be making in advance so that you can shop for the ingredients and perfect your technique before the event.
Finally, you need to make sure that there is plenty of seating for your guests. Check on the number of people that are going to be coming and make sure that you have enough seating in your lounge or that you get garden furniture including tables and chairs for your guests to sit on if you are hosting it outdoors.
